Self Defense Techniques

Self defense techniques can be a matter of survival to some. There is an old saying that says, ‘ He who runs away, lives to fight another day.’ It is a saying that can be understand literally – by using various self defense techniques, one will be able to get away from an attacker and live to fight another day.

One of the easiest self defense techniques is called the stomp kick. It is one of the easiest moves simply because it is doesn’t call on a person to possess great power and agility, or the perfect form on a stance. The stomp kick is effect in its ability to be used against larger attackers, regardless of how small or light the victim may be.

Self defense techniques are important to learn as a reflex and classes can be taken to learn these life saving techniques. If one takes the stomp kick for instance, it can be used in a number of different and difficult situations. However, it is most often used in a situation where the attacker will approach you from behind, placing their arm over your throat. In this position, the attacker has the upper hand.

The stomp kick is the easiest one to learn, in relation to the number of self defense techniques that are available. The reason for the effectiveness of this maneuver is that you as the victim are able to inflict pain on your attacker. This you will achieve by breaking the bones in the attacker’s foot or toes.

The name of this self defense technique explains perfectly the way in which you will execute the maneuver. By raising your foot, you bring it down again, and stomp your heel into the ground. Dig your heel into the ground hard, as though you are stubbing out a cigarette. Be relentless and cause your attacker as much pain as you can.

Many self defense techniques have rewarding benefits. If you are a woman and wearing heels, you are at an advantage of using your heel to stomp your attacker’s foot with. This will no doubt cause a great deal of pain resulting in your attacker releasing you. You can also use your heel to gouge out the skin of your attacker’s shin.

Other self defense techniques can be performed by using your fist to hit your attacker in the groin, solar plexus or abdomen. The pain will be excruciating and you will be released. Use other ‘weapons’ such as sharp objects (pens, keys, fingernails) and attack your attacker’s eyes. You only objective is to get away, so make use of any self defense techniques that will ensure your safety.

After deploying your self defense techniques make sure you get as far away from your attacker as possible. Don’t make the mistake that so many victims do (as seen in many Hollywood movies) and wait to see if your attacker gets up again. Self defense techniques will allow you the chance to run to safety – so don’t be stupid and remember that old saying, ‘ Remember the old saying: ‘He who runs away, lives to fight another day.’ So live to fight another day.
