Martial arts certification

Before any one can participate in championships and proceed with martial arts career, it is important to remember that the instructor must have a martial arts certification. By having this, it ensures that your instructor is fit and able to teach you martial arts according to recognized standards.

To have a martial arts certification, means more than just being able to teach. It means that the person who has that certification has been tested and assessed in all field of the sport to make sure that he or she does not hold a threat to the martial arts participating public.

Martial arts certification also means that the training that the instructor received was given by an accredited organization. There is, in other words, a guarding authority to see to it that the sport of martial arts is not disadvantaged by an individual who claims to be something that is not true.

There are numerous types of martial arts. These types differ in their approach to teaching, their goals, ethics, culture and way of evaluation. It is therefore important that an instructor can prove his or her quality and standard of training, especially if another style of martial arts wants to be learned. Martial arts certification of a specific style will be evaluated against the standards of another style to determine whether a person is fit to cross over between styles. It is in extra-ordinary cases where a black-belt in one style would be denied by another style if the training and grading was done by an instructor that has a martial arts certification.

The Family Safety Institute makes use of instructors that have a martial arts certification to help them teach their students self defense techniques. As martial arts are a way of self defense, it is important that instructors must have a martial arts back ground to ensure that they can teach and learn students the reasons and philosophy of self defense.

A martial arts certification will also ensure that when a student is assessed and graded for a course that was presented by such an instructor, that the education level of that student is according to the lied down standard as is recognized by the governing body of that specific style of martial arts.

Instructors from the Family Safety Institute are proud to say that all their courses adhere to the applicable standards. Their students are thus sure that, apart from getting taught by the best, their teachings and lessons are recognized and that they can have something real if they finished their training. A martial arts certification is treated as a passport to open many doors within the martial arts environment. Certified instructors can be sure that they have the respect of fellow martial arts participants, even if it may be from another style.

Instructors and trainer who have martial arts certification share the common goal of keeping the sport clean and without corruption and to make sure that their students are of character and an advantage towards the future of the sport.
